Here at Core Logistics UK, we install office furniture on projects all over the UK, every week.
Walking into a large open space, ready to accept its new furniture is a refreshing experience. Not just for the ease of the install but to be given the opportunity to experience the before and after scenarios, images of which form part of our portfolios.
However, the reality is that we don’t get to see the real “before”. Often these large open spaces housed the old furniture. The dated models being replaced for new; now viewed as redundant.
Its this part that doesn’t often get spoken about. Where does this old furniture go? In many cases the answer is simple – landfill – or otherwise known as the tip.
As a furniture installation business we felt that we could no longer ignore what we see as a moral obligation. In this day & age, we all follow rules & guidelines on recycling. So why should office furniture be any different?
We have regularly received requests to remove old products prior to new installations but have rejected the request as we simply had no outlet to dispose of the old products.

Whatever we do, our target is to divert as much redundant furniture as possible from landfill, ensuring that we and our partners play our parts on our carbon footprint reduction journey.
